Guide Manager Pro — the guides InDesign is missing. Columns and rows with gutters, insets from the margins, guides around a selected image, mirroring to the facing page and a grid on parent pages in one click. A live preview shows the guides right in your document while you tweak the settings — and a single Undo reverts the whole thing. Save your favourite grids as presets. Adobe InDesign 18.5 and later, Czech and English.

What it does

Where the guides are made

The current page, the whole spread, a range of pages, or every page
On parent pages — the quickest way to one grid across the whole document
Mirroring to the facing page: inside stays inside, outside stays outside
A range is typed as 1–5, 8, 12–16

The area the guides divide

The area inside the margins, the whole page, or the page including bleed
The rectangle around the selection — a grid inside an image, a table or a box
Insets at the top, bottom, spine side and outside; a positive value shrinks the area, a negative one grows it

Columns, rows and positions of your own

1 to 200 columns and rows with a gutter — a pair of guides around every gutter
Guides on the edges of the area, and one exactly at the vertical or horizontal centre
Custom X and Y positions, separated by a space or a semicolon: 10 25.5 40
Comma and point both work as the decimal mark; mm, cm, inches, points or picas
A column count that does not fit is spotted, with a smaller count or gutter suggested
A duplicate guide — a centre landing on a column edge — is only made once

How the guides look

A colour from InDesign's own list, so the panel's guides stand apart from yours
On the current layer or a chosen one; a locked or hidden layer is refused, with the reason
A guide across the page, or across the whole spread
A view threshold from 5 to 4000 %, and new guides locked if you want

Preview and deleting

A live preview draws the guides in the document while you tune the settings
The whole thing is a single Undo
Existing guides on the target pages are either kept or deleted first
It deletes locked guides, and guides on a locked layer
