ZAFLO Recent Files — changelog
========================

1.3.2 — 2026-09-30
------------------
Fixed
- An error in the footer - a document that could not be opened, for example - kept coming back on its own after it had gone. A message now shows for four seconds when it happens and does not return unless it happens again.

1.3.0 — 2026-09-29
------------------
Added
- Documents open on another computer get a violet mark, a count in the footer ("open elsewhere") and, in the tooltip, the time they were opened. The panel looks for the lock file InDesign keeps beside every open document. A lock left behind by a crashed InDesign is recognised and ignored. Off by default: switch it on in Settings under Files, and choose how often it checks (every 60 seconds unless you say otherwise; it also checks every time the list is read).

Changed
- "Show page previews" is no longer in Settings. It was the same switch as the box beside Open in the footer, which is where it stays. Settings keeps "Build all page previews".

Fixed
- Every document on a mapped network drive (a drive letter such as W:) showed red, as if the drive were not connected, although it was. The check that asks whether a network drive is there never worked for drive letters, only for \\server\share paths. It works now; a drive that really does not answer is asked again after a minute.
- A document taken out with "Remove from the list" came back the next time the list was read, without being opened again. It stays out now until you actually open it again.

1.2.1 — 2026-09-28
------------------
Added
- The version number is in the panel's header: "ZAFLO Recent Files 1.2.1".
- "Build all page previews", in the panel menu and in Settings under the page preview switch. It works through the whole list in the background, one document at a time, so you can carry on using the panel while it runs. Switch to page previews afterwards and they are all there at once instead of filling in as you watch. Ask again while it runs to stop it; whatever was built is kept.
- A "Show page previews" box in the footer, beside Open, which turns the page beside the list on and off without a trip to the menu.
- The panel appears the moment you press Ctrl + Win + Shift + R, and a bar under the header shows the list being read, with a count in the footer. It used to appear only once every document had been looked at, so for a moment nothing seemed to happen.

Changed
- A new look: square corners, a darker, warmer palette closer to InDesign's own, shorter rows and a more compact panel.
- Sharper text. Everything is drawn with ClearType in Segoe UI, and it stays sharp at any Windows display scaling, on every monitor.
- Panel size in Settings is 80, 100, 120 or 140 %.
- Dragging a document onto InDesign now loads the place cursor: nothing lands on the page until you click where it should go. It used to open the document. Hold Ctrl as you let go to open it instead.
- "Place in the active document" loads the cursor too, instead of dropping the document onto the page at a spot nobody chose. Several selected documents go into the same cursor, one click each.
- When the panel is behind another window, Ctrl + Win + Shift + R brings it to the front. It used to hide it, and a second press was needed to get it back.
- The menu item for the page beside the list is called "Show page previews", the same as in Settings.
- The panel is called ZAFLO Recent Files now, in its title bar, its tray icon and every one of its windows.

Fixed
- The search box stayed floating over every other application after you switched away from the panel.
- The title in the header ran into the search box.

1.0.0 — 2026-09-21
------------------
- First release.

Added
- A panel of your recent InDesign documents that keeps InDesign's own order, remembers it after InDesign is closed, and reaches further back than the Open Recent menu.
- Opens from anywhere with Ctrl + Win + Shift + R, with InDesign in front of you or not.
- Optional columns for the folder, when a document was opened, when it was last saved, which InDesign version saved it and its size. Drag a column edge to widen it, click a heading to sort by it.
- A preview of the selected document's page beside the list, and a grid view of first pages.
- Search by name and folder as you type.
- Colour marks for documents that are open right now and for files that are missing or on a drive that cannot be reached.
- Pin a document to the top of the list, or remove it until it is opened again.
- Open, open a copy, open with another application, place into the active document, reveal in Explorer, copy the path, and render a missing preview with InDesign, all on the right mouse button.
- Dark and light colour themes.
- Settings for the starting view, panel size, which columns are shown, how many documents are kept (80 by default), whether to look at network drives, and whether the panel closes after opening a document.
