Select Objects on Page / Spread

Two simple InDesign scripts for faster and more predictable selection.

1. Select Objects on Active Page

Selects only objects on the active page. Objects on the pasteboard and on other pages are ignored.

Recommended shortcut: Ctrl + Alt + A / Cmd + Option + A

2. Select Objects on Active Spread

Selects objects on all pages that belong to the active spread.

For example, if the current spread contains pages 2 and 3, the script selects objects from both page 2 and page 3.

Recommended shortcut: Ctrl + Alt + Shift + A / Cmd + Option + Shift + A

How the target page or spread is detected

If an object is already selected, the scripts use the page or spread containing that selected object.

If nothing is selected, they use the currently active page or its spread.

Why not replace Ctrl/Cmd + A?
Keep the standard Ctrl + A / Cmd + A shortcut unchanged. InDesign still needs it for normal Select All behavior, for example when selecting all text inside a text frame.

Assign keyboard shortcuts

  1. Open InDesign.
  2. Go to Edit → Keyboard Shortcuts.
  3. Choose Scripts from the Product Area menu.
  4. Find Select Objects on Active Page and assign Ctrl + Alt + A / Cmd + Option + A.
  5. Find Select Objects on Active Spread and assign Ctrl + Alt + Shift + A / Cmd + Option + Shift + A.
  6. Click OK.
Suggested setup:
Ctrl + Alt + A / Cmd + Option + A → active page only

Ctrl + Alt + Shift + A / Cmd + Option + Shift + A → entire active spread

Example

Your document has a facing-pages spread containing page 2 and page 3.

The Page script selects only objects from page 2 if page 2 is active.

The Spread script selects objects from both page 2 and page 3.

Objects placed outside the pages on the pasteboard remain untouched.

Výběr objektů na stránce / dvoustraně

Dva jednoduché InDesign scripty pro rychlejší a předvídatelnější výběr objektů.

1. Select Objects on Active Page

Vybere pouze objekty na aktivní stránce. Objekty na pasteboardu a na ostatních stránkách ignoruje.

Doporučená zkratka: Ctrl + Alt + A / Cmd + Option + A

2. Select Objects on Active Spread

Vybere objekty na všech stránkách, které patří do aktuálního spreadu.

Pokud je například spread tvořen stránkami 2 a 3, script vybere objekty z obou těchto stránek.

Doporučená zkratka: Ctrl + Alt + Shift + A / Cmd + Option + Shift + A

Jak se určí cílová stránka nebo spread?

Pokud je už nějaký objekt vybraný, scripty použijí stránku nebo spread, na kterém se vybraný objekt nachází.

Pokud není vybráno nic, použije se aktuálně aktivní stránka nebo spread, do kterého aktivní stránka patří.

Proč nenahrazovat Ctrl/Cmd + A?
Standardní zkratku Ctrl + A / Cmd + A je lepší ponechat beze změny. InDesign ji stále potřebuje pro klasické Vybrat vše, například pro označení veškerého textu uvnitř textového rámečku.

Nastavení klávesových zkratek

  1. Otevřete InDesign.
  2. Přejděte do Edit → Keyboard Shortcuts.
  3. V Product Area vyberte Scripts.
  4. Najděte Select Objects on Active Page a přiřaďte Ctrl + Alt + A / Cmd + Option + A.
  5. Najděte Select Objects on Active Spread a přiřaďte Ctrl + Alt + Shift + A / Cmd + Option + Shift + A.
  6. Klikněte na OK.
Doporučené nastavení:
Ctrl + Alt + A / Cmd + Option + A → pouze aktivní stránka

Ctrl + Alt + Shift + A / Cmd + Option + Shift + A → celý aktivní spread

Příklad

Dokument obsahuje dvoustranu tvořenou stránkou 2 a stránkou 3.

Script pro stránku vybere pouze objekty ze stránky 2, pokud je stránka 2 aktivní.

Script pro spread vybere objekty ze stránky 2 i 3.

Objekty umístěné mimo stránky na pasteboardu zůstanou nevybrané.
